Steve has attended Polo events, both public and private, all around the world from South America to India. He has always thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience; the gameplay, the socialising and the whole essence of the game which has a real air of royalty no matter where in the world it is being played, hence the name “The Sport of Kings”.
Polo is such a fast paced and exciting spectacle, this is what Steve has focused on with this work with dynamics being a real focal point with the composition, but not at the cost of accuracy. The attention to detail on this piece makes it a real showstopper, working with professional Polo riders and grooms enabled Steve to fine tune every millimetre. The sculpture portrays the rider moments before striking the ball, the flow and energy achieved through the whole construction of the piece is beautiful.
