Hares have been a huge part of cultures across the world for centuries, in myth and storytelling, with most beliefs based around them representing rebirth and new beginnings. Physically however, their most revered trait is undoubtedly speed.
Steve Winterburn has sculpted this in his new, slightly more abstracted style with big bold, expressive tooling, which really adds the dynamics and flow needed to capture the pace of the hare in full flight. He has pushed the boundaries in terms of the composition with the whole piece angled over and poised off one foot. All of this combines to create an awe inspiring piece of sculpture that is a show stopping piece in any space it is situated.
