Today saw the end of the world famous Royal Ascot race meet 2025, at which this year we are incredibly honoured to have had exhibited Steve Winterburn’s latest monumental spectacle, in the form of a 9ft horse sculpture. This particular piece is a larger than life sized version of his recent equestrian sculpture “Free Spirit”.
Many would argue that The Royal Ascot is the premier equestrian event in the world, so for us to have the stage to display our work there is beyond amazing. As a British family run business it is a privilege and an honour to be alongside British royalty and such prestige at an event with such grand history stretching back hundreds of years.
The reception for Free Spirit was overwhelming, Steve had nothing but praise off people he met at Ascot, with people being drawn to the dynamism and composition of the piece being poised delicately off the one leg. It was situated in the Royal Enclosure, near the main entrance via car park 1. It was an incredible position for the sculpture with a very high foot fall giving it the exposure it deserves as an awe inspiring piece of sculpture.
We would like to thank Justin Gardner from Muse Sculpture Company for this amazing opportunity and for making this incredible showcase with various artists possible.
